Sky ist faul

In the beginning of 2003 we had 2 Shelties Jamie (died at the age of 14.5 years in 2011) and Mickey (died at the age of 13.5 years). Always we have yet been interested in blue-merle Shelties. However, up to now we had found no blue-merle sheltie that we liked. Our ideal picture was - and today it also is still - bright clear merle with white collar, but with a lot of tan (brown) and white in the face. Blue merle Shelties that we had seen till then disposed either of big black spots or had a lot grey in the face what makes the pretty Sheltie face very worriedly.

We had already given up our dream of a blue-merle dog, but had made the decision to complete our both dogs by a bitch. About the VDH we got to know from a kennel with the name Blankenhorn to the west of Heilbronn. One day I had to go officially to Karlsruhe and decided, on the way to meet the Blankenhorn family - Mrs Burrer. She showed me quite proudly a litter with tricolour puppies. Then in the conversation lates I told her about my blue-merle dream Mrs Burrer offered me, to take a look at pregnant Lissy.

She got Lissy which came up waving to me and illuminated me from her blue eyes - it was love on the 1st look! Completely excited I reported Sabine who wanted to see also Lissy. We decided: it must be a daughter of Lissy. Then in May, 2003 we were at the point: Xenia Blue vom Blankenhorn was born. We called her Sky und she developed so great that we absolutely wanted to have a puppy from her. And that was the start of our breeding.
